I am pleased to say that a number of visitors to the school have commented on how smart our students are both in the school and the wider community. However, we have had a number of parents inform us that the current uniform policy can cause issues with clarity on what is acceptable and appropriate. This has led to some difficulties within the school when enforcing the policy. In order to ensure that there is a clear and consistent approach, the school is therefore proposing a uniform change for September 2016.
In the past few weeks we have spoken with a number of students who formed a student focus group. The student group has helped decide the colour and style of the trousers and skirts. The proposal is to make it easier to adhere to the policy and so, the skirts/trousers are only to be purchased from our current single uniform provider (Blueprint). We have ensured our current uniform provider is able to provide good value for money in its clothing range supplied to the school. All students will wear the agreed style of grey skirts or trousers. The remainder of the uniform will remain the same as this academic year and includes a shirt, tie and blazer to be worn at all times as previously advised.
In addition to this, from September 2016, we will be updating our PE wear, to modern lightweight, active fit style. This will not be a compulsory change for current Years 7-11 but can be updated when required. New admissions from September will be required to purchase the updated PE kit.
Please click here for an updated uniform list with prices. We will provide additional information on our school website together with photographs of the proposed changes during the first week back.
The consultation period will close on 18th April. If you have any comments or questions regarding the proposal, please email email@example.com
