On Thursday 23 February, an award-winning Hollywood producer and director, Stanley Brooks, took part in  question and answer session on Skype with Film Studies pupils from Cavendish School. Arranged by Mr Sidley, this opportunity arose after he and Sophia H, in Year 11, wrote to a production company seeking information about the film ‘Perfect Sisters’ which Sophia had chosen to write about for her GCSE assessments. ‘I doubted that we would get a reply,’ said Mr Sidley, ‘so imagine our delight when the film’s director replied that evening and offered to help us in any way he could.’

Mr Brooks has over thirty years of film-making experience, has won an Emmy award for his television work and has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sigourney Weaver, Kiefer Sutherland and Donald Sutherland. The interview took place in school and offered the pupils an invaluable opportunity to ask questions relevant to their GCSE course.
