Cavendish School has once again started it’s prestigious DofE award which for the first time ever, year 9’s are allowed to take part.

Pupils in year 9 and 10 had their first training session on Thursday 5th October where they found out about the course and what they will be doing on their walk, in Berwick on Saturday 14th October.

On Saturday, The pupils taking part will be walking for 5 miles, around Berwick, if they have not given their medical form in as of now, they will not be able to go. They will need to meet at the Cricketers Arms, in Berwick for 10:00am and they should be back there for around 2:00pm. If pupils require a lift, please speak to Mrs Godfrey before Friday.

Next Steps to join DofE officially:

For those pupils who enjoy the DofE walk on 14/10/2017, they will have to speak to Mrs Godfrey on Monday the 16th October to collect an enrolment letter. To enroll, there will be a charge of £25.00 which will go straight to the DofE head office.

On 19th October, there will be an event held in the hall which is for all parents who have enrolled their children into the DofE. Here Mrs Godfrey will hand out essential information.

When it comes to the Expeditions, there will be a charge of £60, for the tent hire and to pay the supervising staff.
