Key Stage 4
Our Curriculum

Year 10 and 11

At Cavendish pupils follow a two year Key Stage Four. All pupils study a core curriculum consisting of GCSEs in English Language, English Literature, Maths and Science. For most pupils this leads to 6 GCSEs. They also follow statutory courses in PE, PSHEE and Religious Education which do not lead to GCSE qualifications.

In addition, pupils are guided in their choice of a further four options from a wide range of subjects. A small number of pupils are guided to take a smaller number of option subjects to enable them to receive additional support in English and Maths.

PSHE

All years follow a Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHEE) programme designed for each particular year group. This contains a wide range of topics and skills including working with others, career choices, study skills, problem solving, drugs education, economic awareness, personal relationships and sex education.

Regular communication during Key Stage 4 is vital to ensure that students make the best possible progress. Each year we will hold events to share with parents how we will be supporting their children and what they can do too.

Celebrating Success

The staff and governors of Cavendish wish to congratulate all of our Year 11 pupils for the fantastic GCSE grades they have achieved this year.

Headteacher, Peter Marchant said, "The grades that our pupils have achieved are a reflection of their hard work throughout their time at the school and they can rightly feel proud of what they have achieved through theseĀ  challenging times."
