Dear Parents and Pupils
Uniform Standards and Expectations
As the school year draws to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to send you my best wishes for the holiday period and remind you of our uniform expectations for September. I am delighted to say that the overwhelming majority of our pupils dress appropriately, but to avoid confusion I have outlined our uniform requirements below.
These expectations are not new, but the wording has been updated slightly for September 2010.The complete version of our uniform expectations can be found on our website. Please read the information carefully as staff will be enforcing the standards outlined.
I am often asked about make-up and piercings and our rules here are quite simple. No make-up is allowed. Nail varnish is not permitted as part of this expectation.
Facial piercings have no place in the school community. Nose studs, tongue, eyebrow piercings and other facial piercings will not be allowed in school. A covering plaster is not acceptable. One stud in each earlobe is acceptable, but these should be modest in size. Earrings and studs with dangling attachments may not be worn. Earrings that stretch the earlobe may not be worn. Bracelets, necklaces and rings must not be worn.
I would like to thank you for your continued support and reiterate my opening remark that most pupils do accept our uniform standards and meet them each day. During next year, the parents of pupils who fail to comply will be contacted so that the matter can be resolved swiftly. Should you seek further information or guidance please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Yours sincerely
